Those of you who are students of history will remember that a draft of the FTC’s revised Green Guides came out almost two years ago, October 6, 2010 to be precise.  Just prior to their release the FTC provided a preview at the NAD conference in New York.  Well is history about to repeat itself?  This year’s NAD conference is being held on October 1-2 in New York and the NAD has just announced the addition of a new panel on its opening day.  That panel is called “Environmental Marketing Claims and FTC’s Green Guides” and the sole panelist is Jim Kohm, the FTC’s Associate Director of Enforcement for the Consumer Protection Bureau and guardian of all things green at the FTC.  (The panel is moderated by the NAD’s own David Mallen.)  So does this mean that a final version of the Revised Green Guides is about to be released?  One would think so.  Stay tuned; or better yet jump in your Prius and head to New York.
